PLANT BASED EATING IS BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, IT’S JUST THAT SIMPLE

I love meat as much as much as the next guy, but meat and dairy specifically account for around 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the UN's Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO). If the world is to meet its target of limiting global warming to “well below” 2C, some degree of diet shift will be necessary. Scientists say a switch to veganism could save almost 8 billion metric tonnes (a metric unit of mass equal to 1,000 kg or 2200 lbs) of CO2 emissions a year by 2050. No, you don’t have to become a vegan! I’m just giving you the facts, but being more aware of your meat consumption and plant based alternatives IS super important.

I’ve done lots of research and lots of cooking and the best source I’ve found for incredible plant based recipes is Forks over Knives. I challenge everyone of you to introduce at least one “meatless day” into your weekly food planning…

PRO-TIP: Plan out your meals for the week, and write a grocery list before shopping, it will make your week run smoother, and save money.
